Life during the corona outbreak + how to embrace this time with presence and ritual⌇written by sankalpa sister @alyssabrieloff

Alyssa is a passionate health & wellness blogger living in NYC trying to find “a HoLYSStic approach to wellness”. My favorite ritual is part of my morning routine. Being that I work from home normally, this hasn't changed much during the pandemic but I have gone easier on myself if it's not the same every day. Without my morning rituals, I don't feel as productive or present. 


I like to start with brushing my teeth & tongue scraping to help get rid of bacteria from overnight. Followed by a facial toner + oil and then use my gua sha. I love doing this because it helps release tension in my jaw and my face. I grind my teeth in my sleep so this helps with any pain. It also helps to detox the skin and with lymphatic drainage, and boosts collagen. After that, drink warm lemon water to help with digestion followed by morning stretches to help loosen my body after sleeping. 


After that, every morning is different. Some mornings I enjoy a longer meditation, sometimes I like journaling or doing a CBT Therapy exercise on an app called Bloom, and other days I like to do a visualization meditation or breathwork. Movement is also very important for me, even if it's a quick 10-15 minute workout, I find my mood feels much more energized. I like to clear my space with smudging in the morning to help clear the space for a new day + set my intention for the day.

 

 

I am very intune with the moons. I am a reflector in Human Design so my body is affected by each one differently. I pay attention to where the moon is daily, with Void of course, and do rituals for every new/full moon. I love to use my Intentions Journal to set my monthly intentions, moon releasing + manifesting, and mid-month/monthly check-ins.
